About Glendale Humane Society

Glendale Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) humane rescue and education organization, founded in 1924. For more than 80 years, we’ve worked to find safe, loving homes for lost, unwanted and abandoned companion animals in Southern California.

We are a no-kill facility. The majority of our animals come from city and county shelters that routinely euthanize adoptable animals due to over-crowded conditions. Once at here, these animals remain in our care until placed in loving, permanent homes.

Our Mission Statement

Glendale Humane Society provides a compassionate no kill haven for dogs and cats while transitioning them into loving permanent homes. We foster a positive relationship between people and their pets through education. As a non profit organization, we rely on private donations and receive no funds from local, state or federal government. Our goal is to ensure as many dogs and cats as possible receive the second chance for life they deserve.
